Ram Setu :- ia an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action-adventure film ^[1] directed by Abhishek Sharma. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushratt Bharunccha and Satya Dev and follows an archeologist who is investigating the nature of Ram Setu, known in English as Adam's Bridge.The film was announced in November 2020. with the principle photography commencing in Mumbai on 30 March 2021. production suttered setbacks and delays amid the covld-19 pandemic. filining resumed in octer 2021 and wrapped up in january2022 taking place near ooty. damana and diu and mumbai the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 25 October 2022 during Diwali festivitis.

Development

According to a report in the financial express .director Abhishek Sharma has been trying to build a plot since2007 when he became aware of a court case involving ram setu.^[5]the film is co-produced by akshay kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malohtra under the production companies kumar's Cape of good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, Lyca Production and Amazon prime video.^[6][7] The is Amazon's first Bollywood production in India .^[8] Aruna Bhatia died in September 2021.^[7] Chandraprakash Dwivedi was signed up as the creative producer. Kumar touted the film to be "a bridge between generations past, present and future".^[6] Co-producer Vikram Malhotra, CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, touted that the film to be "a story formed on facts, science and historical heritage".^[9]

In early March 2021,media reports confirmed that Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushratt Bharuccha were signed up to play lead roles in the film opposite kumar.^[10] In June 2021, Satyadev Kancharana revealed that he will be a part of the film marking his debut in Hindi cinema.^[11]

Filming [edit]

The official announcement of the film was made on 14 November 2020 coinciding with Diwali.^[12] Earlier reports in December 2020 suggested that the film shooting would take place in Ayodya and in the proposed film city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.^[13] of National Capital Region in Uttar Pradesh.^[14] The muhurat shot followed by a puja ceremony by the team was held on 18 March 2021 at Ram Janmahomi temple in Ayoudhya.^[15][16] A planned Visit to Ram ki Paidi ghats in Ayodhya by the lead actors was cancelled due to a large uncontrolled gathering of people.^[16]

Shooting [edit]

After earlier reports indicated that the filming would be resumed in September 2021.^[25] it was later resumed by mid-October 2021 staring with a schedule in Ooty.^[28] Major underwater action scenes, oceanic shoots and climax were planned to be shot in Sri Lanka. However, it was not possible due to COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka which made it difficult for the fiming team to travel under the quarantine restrictions. The filmmakers scouted for an alternate location in Kerala and Gujrat. Due to rising cases of COVID in kerala, it was not selected.^[29] At the end, Daman and Diu was chosen for shooting.^[29] Some of the scenes wre also shot in mumbai and the sequences were finished.^[30] By 5 December, shooting in Diu was complete.^[31] On 31 January 2022, kumar wrapped up shooting.^[32]
