Jawan :- is an upcoming Indian Hindi action thriller film written and directed by Atlee. It stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Principal photography commenced in September 2021 with filming taking place in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. In late 2019, it was rumored that Shah Rukh Khan would team.up with Tamil film director Atlee for his Hindi film debut and the project was confirmed in 2020. [2][3] In may 2021, it was reported that the filming would commence soon.[4]
Casting [edit]
Samantha was initially approached for the female lead.[5] But Nayanthara was finalized, thus marking her Hindi cinema debut.[6][7]
Priyamani, Suni Grover, Sanya Malhotra and Yogi Babu joined the cast later. Rana Daggubati was offered the antagonist role but declined citing health issues and thus the role went to Vijay Sethupathi.[8][9] Deepika Padukone was cast for a flashback role as khan's wife in the film.[10]
Filming [edit]
Principal photography commenced in September 2021 in Pune.[11][12] In June2022. the filming took place in Mumbai and Hyderabad for some imported family sequences.[12][14] In August 2022, the filming took place in Chennai.[15][16]
Music [edit]
A. R. Rahman was reportedly approached by director Atlee to compose for the film.[17] Rahman subsequently declined the offer for reasons unknown, and Anirudh Ravichandra was chosen to compose for the film, who would thus mark his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood, previously having composed a song for David and the background score of Jersey. The music right will be bagged by T-Series and Lahari Music.[18][19

Jawan is set to be release on 2 June 2023. In addition, the film will be dubbed and release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.[15]
